I'm with ya ... I haven't seen ANY of the movies they talked about ... the only one I saw this year was Cars!
Netflix is becoming more and more of a reality for me ... I'm so tempted to subscribe. Then I could spend the next 4 years watching movies from 10 years ago that I never got to see.
It's not that I didn't see any of the movies up for awards last night, I didn't see any movies last year period. I don't even have time to sit through an entire episode of Dora with Abbie right now. I did enjoy those montages they'd show with older movies so I could remember a time when I could spend an entire afternoon at the cinema.
The Oscars are the closest I get to first run, as well. We figured out that if you don't count Cars, we've seen five movies at the theatre since our son was born. The first year, we saw a documentary about an architect (good, but not babysitter-worthy) and Pirates of the Carribean. Netflix is your friend, but only if you only watch kid-friendly movies or your bundle goes to bed before eight. We average about one movie/month despite our good intentions. Most things we want to watch are not appropriate for three-year-olds. Most of what we actually see, is.
